You are fishing at a body of water that legendary fly fisherman Charles Ritz once said was the jewel of Central Europe. The waters are managed in a nature-friendly way. In this context, we kindly ask you to behave as considerately as possible towards the fauna and flora.
The "IG Traun" wish much success in your nature experience of fly fishing. Tight lines!

FISHING REGULATIONS
What is allowed?
Only fly fishing with artificial flies (dry flies, wet flies, and nymphs) using barbless hooks or hooks with crushed/removed barbs on a rod with a leader is permitted.
Not allowed are additional lead balls or heads, jigs, extra heavy streamer lures, lead-weighted sinking lines, and bite indicators. Hook sizes must be between sizes 10 and 20. Multiple hook systems are prohibited; only one fly per rod is allowed. Assemblies such as “Tiroler Hölzl,” “Czech or French Nymphing,” and squirmy worms (silicone worms) are prohibited.
Closed Seasons:
Grayling 02.15 – 06.15.
Bach trout 09.16 – 03.15.
Rainbow trout 01.01 – 03.15.
Only a limited number of daily permits will be issued.
Fishing is only allowed during daylight hours, and commercial fly fishing training is prohibited. Per day, only one rainbow or brook trout (minimum size 30 cm and maximum size 35 cm) or one brook char (minimum size 23 cm) may be harvested. The harvested rainbow trout or brook char must be humanely killed immediately and recorded in the license. It is requested that fish be handled carefully and that hooks be removed in the water.
Wading is dangerous – use a wading belt, suitable footwear, and a wading staff. The license issuer takes no responsibility for accidents, injuries, or their consequences. Instructions from fishing supervision must be strictly adhered to. The license is non-transferable. By purchasing this license, you accept the posted, detailed licensing conditions.
The manager, the association “IG Traun-Ursprung,” is free to reject applications for fishing licenses without providing reasons.
Issued licenses will not be withdrawn and are non-transferable. If a parent has a valid daily license, it is possible, in the interest of youth promotion, to allow a child aged 8 to 14 years to fish alternately at their own risk. For young people aged 15 to 18 years, a license for minors must be obtained.
The provisions of the Styrian Fishing Act in the valid version must be observed. The orders of the sworn supervisory bodies must be strictly adhered to. Violations of these provisions result in the immediate revocation of the fishing license without compensation.
For any damages caused or accidents of any kind, including those involving accompanying persons or children, the license holder is solely liable and is responsible for their actions. The association “IG Traun-Ursprung” is only liable for damages caused by willful or gross negligence. The license holder shall indemnify the association “IG Traun-Ursprung” against all claims from third parties in connection with this license agreement.
By acquiring a license, the license holder expressly agrees to the fishing regulations and commits to comply with them. Unused licenses lose their validity at the end of the respective year and cannot be transferred to the next year. No compensation for non-redeemed licenses!
